Notice to the Ministers of the AME Church

At our last General Conference held in Nashville, Tenn., I placed a circular in your hands, which you will recollect related to a matter that I prefer not to mention in this connection. It was something about hymns. I am sorry to say but few have responded yet, though a large number promised to do so. I cannot wait on you more than a month longer, “What thou doest, do quickly.” Neglect will be your own misfortune, for another like opportunity will certainly not present itself during our lifetime.
